Notes from the Field (and Office): An Interview with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Technician, Isabelle Summers

While we regularly highlight the work that our team conducts out in the forests, wetlands, and fields of the Kawarthas, a lot of work also goes on behind the scenes to support the conservation and stewardship work of KLT’s protected lands. Meet Isabelle Summers, KLT’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Technician for the 2024 Summer season.

In Memoriam
The Melissa Spearing Memorial Fund

Seed biologist Melissa Spearing passed away in late August, in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Originally from Bethany, Melissa was a passionate steward and protector of nature and her loss has been felt by the conservation community throughout the Kawarthas and the country. In memory of Melissa and her life’s work, the Spearing Family has requested that donations made in her memory be made to Kawartha Land Trust. With the support of the Spearing Family, KLT is directing donations to The Melissa Spearing Memorial Fund.
