You Can Help
Give Time (Volunteer)
At Kawartha Land Trust (KLT), our volunteers are the heart and soul of what we do.
We feel very fortunate to have a large, enthusiastic, and dedicated team of volunteers with a range of talents. KLT’s volunteers give us the gift of their time to help us accomplish our land securement and stewardship goals for the Kawarthas and engage the community in support of this work.
As we continue to grow, so does our need for volunteers to help with our many projects!
When you share your time and talents as a volunteer, you make it possible to achieve amazing things and you will connect with other passionate individuals on our team.
Our Volunteer Philosophy of Involvement
We encourage the teamwork of volunteers and staff, so that we can offer the community an enhanced quality of life in the Kawarthas by conserving the natural environment together.
Volunteers contribute their unique talents, skills, and knowledge to assist staff and educate the public about our organization’s, mission and vision.

Call for Expressions of Interest, KLT Trustees/Directors
Kawartha Land Trust (KLT) welcomes expressions of interest from individuals who wish to join our team of Trustees.
KLT’s Trustees are the members of our organization. They protect our mission, and, among other things, elect the Board of Directors and act as ambassadors and champions for KLT in the community.
Trustees are elected at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) in June each year and serve three-year terms. Directors for our Board are elected from the body of Trustees at the AGM. More information on the expectations of Trustees can be found here.
Complementing the make-up of the current body of Trustees, we will seek individuals whose interests align with our mission and with skills and expertise in one or more of the following areas: conservation, not-for-profit governance, stakeholder/community relations and communications, strategic capability and senior leadership, fundraising, finance, property acquisition and management, human resource management, legal, and risk management.
At present, we are specifically recruiting Trustees with skills in one or more of the following areas: marketing and communications, human resources, government relations, and governance policy.
If this opportunity interests you, please email us at governance@kawarthalandtrust.org with your expression of interest and an outline of how your background aligns with our mission and the skills and expertise areas noted above.
Expressions of interest will be reviewed quarterly by our Governance and Nominating Committee. Individuals whose backgrounds appear to be a good complement to our current body of Trustees will be contacted at that time to arrange an opportunity to discuss our mutual interests.
KLT values diversity and inclusion and encourages applications from all qualified applicants. Accommodations for applicants with disabilities are available upon request for all aspects of the recruitment process. Please note, however, that at this time, KLT offices are not wheelchair accessible.
