Woodview, North Kawartha
Open to public:
In July 2016, we officially opened KLT’s Stony Lake Trails network!
It would not have been possible without the support of donors, volunteers, and neighbouring landowners who have assisted with locating the property’s old, unmanaged trails, fixing the trails up, and contributing to their long-term maintenance. Many people have also generously provided permission for the trail network to cross over their private lands.
The 10-kilometre trail network boasts scenic views of Stony Lake, with benches and resting areas available throughout. The trails are suitable for those with moderate and intermediate hiking experience and there are many opportunities to observe the abundant and diverse wildlife in this area.
There are easily accessible trail entry points with available parking located off Reid’s Road at the KLT-owned Ingleton-Wells Property, as well as at Viamede Resort.
While walking on the trails you can fully experience and enjoy the unique geology that makes the Stony Lake area both ecologically significant and beautiful, from its limestone cliffs and cuts to the significant rock outcroppings of the Canadian Shield.
When accessing Stony Lake Trails, please note that no parking is allowed on Fire Route 10b. Fire Route 10b is a private road and not open to the public and your vehicle will be at risk of being towed. Please be respectful of our neighbours.
