Jane Zeidler purchased the 1.5-acre property to ensure the protection of nature on this 100% natural property that was at risk of development. In the summer of 2024, Jane generously donated the property to Kawartha Land Trust (KLT) to protect it in perpetuity.
The Theresa Hickey Perry Nature Sanctuary features some of the iconic natural sights of the Kawarthas, including rock barrens, Eastern White Pine, Red Oak, and Juniper. White Oak, an important mast tree for wildlife, is also present on the land.
The Sanctuary also features 125 metres of natural shoreline along Ston(e)y Lake, contributing to the health of the lake and the communities and wildlife that rely upon it. We’re grateful to Jane for protecting the land she loves.
