Confidentiality and Privacy Policy

Kawartha Land Trust (KLT) strives to uphold standards set by PIPEDA (the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act) and is responsible for all personal information collected, used, maintained and disclosed. KLT is committed to respecting and safeguarding your right to privacy.

Diversity Policy

As a community-supported charity, Kawartha Land Trust (KLT) is flexible to meet the needs of all individuals and groups. KLT is committed to developing an organization that is diverse and inclusive, provides opportunities, and encourages participation of a cross-section of society. KLT respects differences in values and experiences and ensures its policies and practices are not discriminatory in compliance with Ontario Human Rights Code, Employment Equity, and Employment Standards Act.

Reporting Violations/Whistleblower Policy

The purpose of Kawartha Land Trust’s (KLT) Whistleblower Policy is to provide direction to, and protection for, all current or former KLT employees, contracted service providers, volunteers and Board members regarding the communication and disclosure of events, decisions, concerns or actions, with respect to issues of professional conduct, integrity of actions or practices and legal compliance. In particular, any questionable financial or operational matters that could be or may seem to be in contravention of KLT policies, CLT standards and practices or any applicable laws and regulations. All whistleblower allegations must be submitted, as a written statement, to the Whistleblower Officers, consisting of the Chair of the Board and the Vice-Chair of the Board. If one or both of these Whistleblower Officers are the subject of the allegations, the Treasurer of the Board and/or the Executive Director, will replace them as Whistleblower Officer as required.
