Help nature thrive in even the smallest spaces. Attend this event to learn about gardening in containers and other limited spaces from author and artist Lara Mrosovsky.

Lara will lead you through tips for success in choosing hardy plants to grow — from vegetables and culinary herbs to perennials and “wild” plants. A feast for your eyes and feed pollinators and yourself!

This event is suitable for new gardeners and those with more experience who wish to apply or adapt their knowledge to growing plants on roofs, balconies, and other unlikely places.

Participants will be provided with pots, seeds, and soil so that you can take home a bit of the magic and watch it grow.

Facilitator bio: Lara Mrosovsky has been teaching and learning about growing food in small spaces since 2003. She is the author of An Illustrated Guide to Growing Food on Your Balcony and Grow Without A Garden: 101 Plants for Containers. For nine years she coordinated the first intensive green roof atop a Community Health Centre in Ontario, where she established productive good gardens and award-winning community programs. As a visual artist, Lara works in illustration and printmaking. Community engagement is central to both her gardening and her art practice.
