16 Stewardship Projects on Private Lands in 2017

Stewardship Projects on Private Lands

This year we partnered with private landowners on 16 stewardship projects.

We were able to improve habitat in key areas identified through Kawarthas Naturally Connected by planting 18,560 trees, managing 20 acres of invasive plants, planting 2 acres of pollinator habitat and removing 1 km of barrier to wildlife movement.

Some of these landowners are now in discussion with KLT about permanent land protection options such as a Conservation Easement Agreement and/or a Fee Simple donation to KLT. You can learn more about these options on our Land Protection Options website page.

Thanks to you, our amazing volunteers, individual donors and funders such as the Ontario Trillium Foundation for making this possible!
